1. Who we are

Dalex Institute of Technology (DIT) is a professional and technical training institute based at 1st Floor, Obrapa House, Atico Junction, Kaneshie–Mallam Highway, Accra, Ghana, P.O. Box GP 14219, Accra. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit dit.edu.gh, apply for a course, contact us, or otherwise interact with our website.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly through our website forms, including:

• Application / enrolment forms — full name, phone number, email address, course of interest, date of birth, and gender (date of birth and gender are required for the learner returns we file with CTVET, our regulator), plus — optionally — your Ghana Card number, residential address, and disability information (collected to support learners and for regulator statistics), and any supporting information you choose to share (e.g. educational background, employer).
• Contact and enquiry forms — name, email, phone number, and the content of your message.
• Newsletter sign-up — your email address.
• Student portal records — if you enrol, we maintain your student record: student number, enrolment and completion status, certificates issued, payment records, an optional passport photo, and coursework you submit through the portal (assignment files, marks, and feedback).
• Payments — online payments, where offered, are processed by Paystack, a payments provider regulated in Ghana. Your card or mobile-money credentials go directly to Paystack and are never seen or stored by us — we receive only confirmation of the payment (amount, reference, and status). Payments made in person or by bank or mobile-money transfer are recorded by our staff with the details you provide (name, course, payment reference).

Our website chat assistant keeps its conversation only in your own browser — chat transcripts are not stored on our servers. Messages you type are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate answers, so please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use essential cookies required for the site to function correctly, and — where enabled — analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are most visited). Analytics data is aggregated and does not, on its own, identify you personally. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site functionality.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process course applications and manage enrolment;
• Respond to enquiries submitted through our contact and intake forms;
• Confirm payments and communicate about fees;
• Send course updates, intake announcements, and — where you have subscribed — our newsletter;
• Improve our website, courses, and student support based on aggregated usage patterns; and
• Meet our legal, regulatory, and administrative obligations as a Ghanaian training institute.

5. Where your data is stored and processed

Form submissions and student records are processed and stored using Supabase, a secure third-party database and application platform hosted in the European Union, and our website runs on Vercel, hosted in the United States — so information submitted through the site is processed outside Ghana. We disclose these processing locations in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect this infrastructure, including access controls limiting data access to authorized staff who need it to do their jobs.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf, solely to help us operate the institute: Supabase (form and student-record storage), Resend (email delivery), Paystack (online payment processing), Sertifier (issuing and hosting your verifiable certificates — your name, email, and course completion are shared to issue a certificate), and Anthropic (the AI assistant behind our website chat);
• Our affiliated certification bodies (such as CADD Centre Training Services), where necessary to register you for certification or examination as part of a course you have enrolled in; and
• Regulators or authorities, where required by Ghanaian law — including learner statistics and records filed with CTVET.

7. Data retention

We retain application and enrolment records for as long as needed to administer your course and certification, respond to related enquiries, and meet reasonable record-keeping obligations. Financial records (fees and payments) are kept for at least six years, in line with the Revenue Administration Act, 2016 (Act 915). Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

8. Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may contact us at any time to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information;
• Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or administrative reason we may need to retain it; or
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter or marketing communications at any time.

9. Children's information

Our courses are aimed at working professionals, fresh graduates, and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
