Curriculum Outline

Module 1 — 2D Drafting Fundamentals Interface navigation, precision drawing tools, layers, coordinate systems, and drawing setup standards.

Module 2 — Annotation & Documentation Text styles, dimensioning, tables, blocks, and the creation of construction-ready drawing sets.

Module 3 — 3D Modeling Building solids, surfaces, and mesh objects; converting 2D concepts into 3D representations.

Module 4 — Design Applications Corridor design, pressure and gravity pipe networks, grading, parcel design, and rail track layout fundamentals.

Module 5 — Analysis & Automation Storm water management modeling, dynamic quantity takeoff (QTO), earthwork calculations, and automating repetitive drafting tasks (counting, comparing drawings, generating schedules).

Module 6 — Surveying & Mapping Surface modeling, base map creation, and working with point-cloud/reality-capture data.

Capstone Project Participants complete a full drawing package — from concept sketch to annotated, dimensioned production plan — mirroring real workplace deliverables.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently produce professional 2D drawings and 3D models, automate time-consuming drafting tasks, and apply industry-standard documentation practices used across architecture, civil, and mechanical design offices in Ghana and beyond.

Certification

DIT is an authorized training associate of CADD Centre Training Services (India), one of the world’s largest CAD training networks. Graduates who complete all modules and pass the practical assessment receive an internationally recognized Certificate of Completion issued through DIT’s CADD Centre training-associate programme, recognized by employers across the AEC sector in Ghana and West Africa.
