Project Planning and Management (PPM) is a discipline common to every sector — information technology, engineering, construction, and general management alike. Whether the deliverable is a piece of software, an automobile component, or a construction project, the same fundamental project management practices apply: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing.

DIT’s PPM course is built around the standards and best practices compiled in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), published by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading professional association for project managers. Participants learn both the concepts and the software tools that professional project managers use to deliver projects on time, within budget, and within scope.

This program is designed for:

Working professionals responsible for planning, coordinating, or delivering projects Engineers and technical staff moving into project coordination or management roles IT professionals managing software or systems delivery projects Anyone targeting project-focused roles such as Planning Engineer, Scheduler, Cost Estimator, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, or Portfolio Manager Some professional work experience is recommended so participants can relate course concepts to real projects, though it is not a strict requirement.

What you'll be able to do

  • Graduates gain a practical, standards-aligned understanding of professional project management — enabling them to plan, execute, and deliver projects with the estimating, scheduling, and control discipline that employers across engineering, IT, construction, and general business increasingly require.
