Project management training and courses in Accra, Ghana
DIT (Dalex Institute of Technology) provides project management training in Ghana from its Accra campus. The current courses are Microsoft Project (MS Project), Project Planning & Management (PPM), and Project Schedule. They are PMI-aligned short courses for people who plan and deliver projects in construction, engineering, IT, NGOs, government and banking, and each one leads to a DIT Certificate of Completion.
Which course should you take? Start with Project Planning & Management (PPM) if you need the method: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing a project within scope, schedule and budget. Choose Microsoft Project if you already work on projects and need to build, resource and track schedules in software. The 2-day Project Schedule intensive suits planners and coordinators who must produce or defend a programme of works. A common path is PPM first, then Microsoft Project.
The training is built for working professionals. Part-time editions run in morning, evening and weekend streams, and intensive editions compress a course into a few focused weeks. Class exercises use Ghanaian project scenarios, so the schedules, budgets and reports you build on the course look like the ones you will produce at work.
The training prepares you for roles such as planning engineer, scheduler, cost estimator, project coordinator and project manager. If you later want an international credential such as PMP, the PPM course gives you the PMI-aligned methodology that the exam draws on, but the credential itself comes only from PMI.
Frequently asked questions
What project management training does DIT offer in Ghana?
Three complementary courses: Project Planning & Management (PPM) covering the full PMI-aligned lifecycle, Microsoft Project for planning and tracking software, and a project scheduling course for deeper planning technique.
Is the training suitable for preparing toward PMP or other certifications?
The PPM programme is PMI-aligned, so it builds the methodology base that international certifications draw on. Course pages list the exact curriculum so you can map it against your target certification.
Can I take project management training while working?
Yes. Part-time editions run in morning, evening, and weekend streams in Accra, and intensive editions compress the course into a few weeks for those on a deadline.
How long do DIT's project management courses in Ghana take?
Project Planning & Management (PPM) runs for 8 weeks part-time or 3 weeks intensive; Microsoft Project runs for 4 weeks part-time or 1 week intensive; the Project Schedule course is a 2-day intensive. All three are short, certificate courses, not degree programmes.
Does a DIT project management course give me a PMP or PMI credential?
No. DIT's courses are PMI-aligned in content and lead to a DIT Certificate of Completion. PMP and other PMI credentials are awarded only by PMI after its own examination; DIT is not a PMI Registered Education Provider.
How much does project management training cost at DIT?
Each course has its own fee in Ghana cedis, shown on its course page above. The 2-day Project Schedule intensive is the lowest-cost way to start; PPM is the most complete course.
Do I need experience before taking project management training?
Not for Microsoft Project, which needs only basic computer literacy. For PPM and the Project Schedule intensive, some professional work experience is recommended so you can apply the method to real projects.
