A CTVET-accredited TVET programme in computer-aided design and manufacturing, from National Proficiency I to National Certificate II on Ghana's National TVET Qualifications Framework.
Overview
CAD/CAM stands for computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing: using software to design a part and then to prepare it for production. DIT is accredited to deliver CAD/CAM as a TVET programme on Ghana’s National TVET Qualifications Framework, from National Proficiency I (NP1) to National Certificate II (NC2).
Unlike DIT’s short CAD courses, which lead to a DIT Certificate of Completion, this programme leads to national qualifications. Each level certifies a defined set of practical competencies, and learners are assessed on what they can demonstrably do.

- Workers who already draft or machine parts and want their skills formally certified
- Learners who want a route into further study on the national framework
How the Levels Work
The programme runs through four levels: National Proficiency I, National Proficiency II, National Certificate I and National Certificate II. Each level builds on the one before. Admissions will confirm intake dates, fees, class times and the right starting level for you.
What you'll be able to do
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances
- Produce 2D technical drawings to recognised drafting standards
- Build 3D models of parts and assemblies on computer
- Prepare CAD models for manufacture and generate machining instructions with CAM software
- Work safely in a design and machining environment
